100% free live polls
A free audience response system that runs on phones
An audience response system lets a presenter ask a question and see every answer in the room at once. LivePoll does it with the phones people already carry: show a QR code, they vote in the browser, and the results move live on the big screen. No clickers to buy, no app, unlimited voters, free.

What is an audience response system?
An audience response system (ARS) is any tool that lets a group answer a question at the same time and shows the combined result. It started with handheld clickers and a receiver plugged into the presenter's laptop. Today the same job runs in a web browser on the phones people already have.
Teachers use it to check understanding, trainers to keep a session interactive, and event hosts to give a big room a voice.
Clickers versus a web-based system
Clickers still work, but they cost money per seat and need setup and cleanup. A web-based system replaces all of that with a QR code.
- No cost per seatVoters bring their own device.
- No setup timePublish a poll and show the code. People are voting in under a minute.
- Works anywhereIn the room, on a video call, or both at once.
- Nothing to collectNo lost remotes, no batteries, no receiver.
How to run one in a class or event
- Write the question and two to six answers in the poll maker above, or start from a template.
- Publish and open the presenter view on the projector. The QR code and join code are on screen.
- Let the room vote. Results move as each vote lands. With Pro or the Event Pass, you can hide them until everyone has voted.
- Talk about the result. Use the phone remote to move to the next question without walking back to the laptop.
Where it works best
- ClassroomsQuick checks for understanding, exit tickets and votes on the next topic.
- TrainingKeep a long session interactive and find out what to cover again.

Questions
Is LivePoll a free audience response system?
Yes. Running polls is free with unlimited voters and no ads. Pro and the one-time Event Pass add things like your own branding, scheduled polls and CSV export, but the response system itself is free.
Do participants need an app or clickers?
No. They scan a QR code with their phone camera, or type a short link, and vote in the browser. Any phone, tablet or laptop works.
How many people can respond?
There's no voter limit. The same poll works for a class of 25 or an audience of several hundred.
Does it do quizzes or word clouds?
LivePoll focuses on live polls: single choice, multiple choice, and sets of up to 10 questions with a free account. If you need quizzes or word clouds, our guide to the best free audience response systems compares tools that do.
