Short answers to the questions people ask most about making polls, voting, the big screen, accounts and Pro. Still stuck? Write to hello@freelivepoll.com.

How do I make a poll?

Type a question, edit the answers, and press Publish poll. Press Enter for another answer, or paste a list to add several at once. Your poll opens on a screen with its QR code, ready to share. Or start from one of the ready-made templates at FreeLivePoll.com/polls.

How do people vote?

They scan the QR code with their phone camera, or open the link and type the 6-digit code. Voters don't need an app or an account.

Is it really free? How many people can vote?

Yes. Every poll takes unlimited voters and shows no ads. Pro is optional and adds extra controls.

How long does a poll stay open?

A poll waits up to 7 days for its first vote, then stays open for 24 hours. With a free account it stays open for 7 days. Pro polls stay open until you close them. You can close a poll early at any time.

Can people change their vote?

Yes. Tapping another answer moves their vote, as long as the poll is open. The totals never count a vote twice.

How do I show results on a big screen?

Your poll opens on the presenter screen after you publish. Press F for full screen and Q to show or hide the QR code. The QR code stays large next to the results for the whole poll, so people can keep joining. When you close voting, the QR code makes way for a button that starts your next question.

Can I control the poll from my phone?

Yes. On the big screen, press Remote and scan the code with your own phone. You can close, reopen, reset or share the poll from there. Keep that code to yourself, because anyone who scans it can control the poll. The Share section also has the QR code as a PNG, the poll's social image, and an embed code for a website.

Can one poll have more than one question?

Yes, with a free account. In the creator, press Add question to add up to 10 questions, or 50 on Pro. Everyone scans one QR code for the whole set. You move the room along with Next and Previous on the settings page, from your phone, or with the arrow keys or a slide clicker on the big screen, and every phone follows. Going back to a question opens it again with its votes. After the last question, everyone sees all the results.

Can someone vote twice?

Each device gets one vote. Someone determined could vote again from a private browser window. Your controls page shows how many votes came from look-alike devices on the same network. Pro adds strict voting, which blocks repeat votes from the same device.

What do you collect about voters?

Voting needs no name, email or account. Your browser keeps a random token so your device has one vote per poll. The privacy policy has the details.

Why make a free account?

An account keeps your results for a year instead of a week, lets polls run for 7 days, and shows your polls on every device. You sign in with a code we email you, with no password.

What does Pro add?

Your logo and colors, a custom link, hidden results you reveal on cue, a hidden vote count, strict voting, passwords, scheduling, CSV and image export, a vote timeline, themes, and results kept forever. Pro is $5 a month or $39 a year, and the Event Pass gives you all of it for 7 days for $9.

How do I report a poll?

Use the Report this poll link at the bottom of any poll. When three different devices report a poll, we hide it until we review it.

Is LivePoll available everywhere?

Not yet. We don't offer it in the European Union or the European Economic Area at the moment.
