Why people are split
1989 fans want the pop era: big choruses, "Blank Space", "Style" and the record that owned 2014. Folklore fans want the quieter storytelling she made in lockdown with Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff, and they'll tell you "august" is the best song she's written.
